I didn’t walk in with plans to get face filler. It just sorta happened. I went in for a Laser Resurfacing. And as part of the consultative process I was given a Visia Skin Analysis (this is included in all of OVMEs services). This was super helpful in being able to see both visible and non-visible aspects of the skin. Plus I can’t wait to see how things improved or decline over time. The Visia complexion analysis allows them to objectively look beyond “skin deep”to determine your optimal treatment regimen.
My Experience with Face Filler
What I noticed immediately was that, BOTOX works! My forehead area was practically perfect for my age (38 for those that care) and been gettin Botox regularly for 3 or 4 years. But what I did notice was how bad my under eyes were in comparison. This has always been on my mind as I don’t like wearing concealer due to having freckles. Plus I feel like it sits in the creases and just pronounces those lines even more. Not to mention I sleep terrible and don’t drink enough water which doesn’t help that situation. But we moved forward with prepping for the Laser Resurfacing because that would also be helpful under those eyes.
Well in passing I mentioned a spray tan and come to find out, you shouldn’t do this laser with pigment as you could result in a burn. So I rescheduled my appointment for two weeks out and left with a completely numb face. After sharing on IG about this laser, I had several comments about how swollen it made people and how they were peeling 5-6 days later. Well I had a girls trip planned for day 5. And the last thing I wanted to do was go more swollen then I already was with peeling skin.
Game Time Decisions are My Favorite
So two weeks later at my appointment time, we made a game time decision to address that under eye area a little differently and hold off on the laser until after summer. I can’t tell you how glad I am that Jamie Lynn talked me into this. Kidding, I needed zero talking in. I’m always in! While we were chatting, I mentioned cheek filler too and wondered if that would be something that would help make the eyes less tired. Basically my beauty regimen can be described as “what do I need to do to wake up and have minimal effort to be ready for the day.” I want to be appear to just wake up like this “naturally” with a little help from medicine.
Jamie Lynn mentioned a lot of times with tear troughs, filler is needed in the mid face and cheeks first. This helps support the tear trough filler to keep it from becoming saggy. I wasn’t blessed with cheekbones and 2020 weight gain is real so they are defiantly hibernating. Thanks to modern medicine, I can now have them!
Did It Hurt?
Now this isn’t my first experience with filler. I have been getting my lips done for a couple years. And let me preface this by saying that pain is beauty. Lips aren’t the most enjoyable thing, but they results they yield are worth the pain. Tear trough filler and cheek filler are so much less painful than lips. It was a weird sensation but only an initial poke of pain. Once in, it was completely fine! And the after pain is also minimal. Where my lips are sore that night and I have a hard time eating/drinking. This just felt like a slight bruise was on my cheek, no pain under eyes. No downtime, quick procedures, with immediate results are my favorite.
Comparison Photos
Knowing none of y’all read my words and just came here for the before and after photos. Here they are! Im currently on day 4. Only one slight small bruise. But honestly it blends with the freckles so you can’t even see it.
