Thank you Sargento for sponsoring this blog post and making our kid friendly meal prep ideas a little easier and a lot more fun.
Now that school is back in session, those lazy days of summer are long gone. From early mornings off to school to late evenings with dance classes and after school activities our days have changed a bit. Most people believe that being crazy stressed is par for the course. We work hard on figuring out ways to make life easier and more enjoyable.
How many times a day are you trying to feed your family and everyone is shouting out things they like or don’t like? Often, right? We all know stay at home mommying doesn’t pay well, add in catering to the ever-changing needs of children (or husbands) and adding chef to your job requirements does more harm than good.
When the kids started eating food at a young age, we decided kids were going to eat what we eat. There are no multiple food lines in this house. It makes food prep easier as well as grocery shopping. Helps with our food budgets and keeps us eating healthy and nutritious foods.
Now before you think I’m being a little unreasonable. We always take into account things the kids like and dislike as well as things that can be made different ways.
Thanks to Sargento for making tonight’s dinner a breeze and with leftovers, lunch tomorrow will be even easier! Sargento® Natural cheese is something that you can feel great giving to your kids with a taste they will love.

- easy for kids to help
- leftovers

Growing up I didn’t help much aka ever in the kitchen. In fact still to this day when my mom is around, I become unable to do anything for myself. haha. So in order to make sure my kids are relatively self-sufficient I try to involve them as much as possible. We turn up the tunes. Then make it a fun experience. The kids are so proud of their creations when finished.
Oven-Baked Sandwiches
We love these in our family because not only are they delicious but they are super easy to customize for those picky eaters. Sargento® provolone on half, Sargento® Colby-Jack on the other half. Turkey meat or ham or both make something everyone will love. Spicy mustard goes on the adults’ and kids get the traditional. Well everyone can be happy with a one-pot dish, ready in twenty minutes. The leftovers get put in lunch boxes. Go ahead and set that alarm back, you can sleep in a bit.
