As a local I get ask pretty frequently where to stay in Nashville and a lot of that depends on who you are with and what you are doing. But I recently stayed at The Waverly in 12 South neighborhood and I can feel great about recommending this for everyone to stay at.
The Neighborhood
12 South is by far one of the most popular neighborhoods in Nashville. With an abundance of restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, a park and of course murals there is a little something here for everyone. It is a very walkable community where people tend to be out and about with their dogs in tow as long as the weather is nice. It is also a very safe neighborhood.
It’s a quick Uber ride to Downtown and walkable to Belmont area so a great area to stay if you want to feel the energy of the city yet have somewhere quiet to recharge.
The Building

In case you missed it, Nashville should be awarded the Girls Getaway City of the Year. From a young age, girls like to get ready together. So naturally when traveling with friends, we want to be able to meet for coffee in the am or curl our hair together before dinner. Well The Waverly is perfect for this. Also I know a ton of retreats are held here and with 7 different 2 bedroom rentals it would be perfect location for that as well.
With all 7 doors opening to a courtyard that is perfect for happy hour before dinner, coffee in the morning, work meetings, laying on a lounge chair and soaking in the sun, or just a central meeting place to hang with outdoor string lights the ambiance is amazing.
Just Downstairs

My dream is to live in a place where I can live, work, and play. The Waverly let me live that dream this past weekend. I was able to walk out my door, down a flight of stairs right into BOX coffee shop with a full menu including breakfast and lunch. (They also deliver if you indulged too much the night before).
Need to sweat out some of the poor decisions you made the night before, head down the steps to Inner Light Yoga. I watched from the windows and this music based yoga studio looked like a ton of fun and fits perfectly with the Music City theme.
Once you are done with breakfast and yoga, you can head to the far end of the building and get a facial. Could this girls weekend be anymore amazing? Face Nashville offers facials as well as makeup applications and brow work. You will be ready to hit up the Honky Tonks.

Once Inside

I actually forgot my hat after we checked out and I had to go back and grab it with my 4 year old in tow. She walked in and her jaw hit the ground.
” I have never seen a hotel with stairs inside. This is amazing.”

The all white, industrial loft like feel of The Waverly reminds me that suburbia living isn’t for me. Exposed duct work, lots of window and natural light has me wanting to throw the for sale sign up in the yard. Not only is it beautiful, it is loaded with amenties. Full kitchen with ample seating at the island. A washer and dryer. Two full baths and two bedrooms. Not to mention, the bed was super comfortable. To top it all off it was decorated beautifully and everything was super clean. And I can promise you, you won’t find a softer bath towel anywhere. Basically the bath towel makes it worth the stay in itself.
Nice Features
Keypad entry. No more fumbling around for a keycard to get in at night. Check in was a breeze. Wi-Fi was included as well as cable and even a fun record player. Free parking right behind building. 2 bedroom units have a pull-out couch making it comfortable to sleep 6. There are cameras for your protection on the outside of the building near stairs. Funny the things that make you excited when you are mid-30s, you never would have paid attention to in 20s.
All photos above were taken by Light by Iris, a Nashville photographer. She was amazing to work with and was able to perfectly capture 6 women and a baby.

This is the unit I stayed in with Portia. You can always find stock photos on the Internet but wanted to include a few from my POV.

Until next time!
