One of my biggest pieces of advice for new moms is don’t wait until the kids are older to take them. Whether it be traveling, to a nice restaurant, to the movies, shopping etc. As a new mom, I was oblivious to the anxiety that comes from taking babies/kids in public. I blame it on being super unfamiliar with how babies functioned or no one before me admitting that they avoid nice restaurants or plane trips due to the what-ifs. Day two home from the hospital was spent at lunch with hubs and B then shopping at Target waddling aisle to aisle.
The way I look at this is that well-adjusted babies turn into well-adjusted toddlers (ha) which then turns into kids you can take into public without fear of the unknown. Some people choose to avoid the awkwardness of toddlers acting out and in turn have kids acting out because they know no difference. This, by the way, is so much more awkward.
My family loves a fancy, swanky, white tablecloth restaurant. They typically chose the ones that have no kids menu or high chairs. So from the time, my girls were young they have been fine dining. I on the other hand typically dread these places. Only because I am really good with context clues. No highchair, no kids menu, no colors. Safe to assume, kids shouldn’t be here. I am totally fine with establishments catering to adults only. They need to exist cause when momma goes on a date night, she doesn’t want kids around. Not hers or yours. ha.

But there are times when we want to go out and celebrate at a nice restaurant. Like Brooklyn’s first day of school! Momma needed a wine and Brooklyn wanted good food. Thankfully, gone are the days where you have to choose between kid-friendly and quality food/atmosphere. Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar now has features the Flemings kids menu.
Forget the traditional children’s menu fare, now children can enjoy fine dining, too, with Flemings Kids menu at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. The upscale steakhouse offers smaller portions of some of what’s available on the adult menu for children including Steak Frites or Steak & Potato Waffles (both of which come with a 6oz Filet Mignon) to Lamb Chops and Shrimp Tempura. Sides include apples and caramel or a side salad and of course it comes with

Of course for those kids that still love macaroni & cheese that is also an option but this isn’t any regular macaroni and cheese. So best of both worlds. Food for your kids you can feel good about them eating and a white tablecloth and an extensive wine list that makes you forget you have dried spit up on your shoulder or you haven’t washed your hair in days. But you never once feel like you are in a place you shouldn’t be. They were so accommodating, bringing entertainment for the kids to play with, bread for the kids to snack on, and not to mention the crumber so you almost forget you are dining with children that love to out crumbs everywhere.
I can’t wait to go back to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.and celebrate our next big event. Perhaps next week I can make something up.
Find a location near you and then find a reason to celebrate (don’t forget the kids, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar has them covered too!
