Thank you California Closets for sponsoring this post.
For those of you that have followed along for a while, you know that my husband and I built a tract home 2 years ago and ever since then we have been tackling projects one by one to make it a more custom home. When we moved into this home, our closet space exponentially increased. One would think going from a small space to a large space would be simple to keep organized. Well, thank goodness for doors. It is a disaster and we are busting out of the seams. I’m blaming my hubs.
So after “never having anything to wear” and taking entirely too long to get ready, I decided to purge. Some friends and I decided to have a closet sale. I was ready to get back to the basics. I only kept the things I loved, fit well, made well and would last the test of time. If it had not been worn in a couple of months, it got tossed.
Fresh beginnings are amazing and I wanted to keep on the track I was on so I reached out to my friends at California Closets in Franklin, TN for them to come out and see what I could do to make my massive closet functional, orderly, and beautiful. Kylee was a gem and got back to me and we worked out a schedule for her to come out to my house to help rid me of those ugly wire shelves. If you do not have a California Closets near you, they can do consultations over the phone as well.
Initial Consultation
California Closets offers custom organizational solutions throughout the home—of course, they do closets but also much more! From pantries and media centers to mudrooms and garages, California Closets enhances the storage potential and purpose of even small spaces to maximize the efficacy of the home. Kylee, from the local California Closets was amazing and showed me options for almost every room in my house.
She took measurements of the different spaces I wanted to remove the wire shelves from, then showed me some samples of finishes. We also talked about budgets and what I want out of the space. On her way out we set up a time for me to stop in and see the 3D rendered spaces that they designed. Best part she didn’t even judge how many pairs of shoes my husband has. And if you were wondering, Kylee made a note to design for 50 pairs.
In Office Review of Designs
Walking into the California Closets office in Franklin was a home decor bloggers dream. They had beautiful vignettes set up throughout where you could see the finishing touches and hardware in action. Kylee was waiting for me when I arrived with legos in hand to keep my rowdy kids quiet while we went through the designs to remove the wire shelves and replace with custom storage solutions. From the initial meeting, she knew I needed a big punch on a budget. One day, I’ll have them in to design a dream closet with a wine station (yes, they can do that) but today I need something that will add value to my house, make my life less cluttered, while on a limited budget.
