I have partnered with James Avery to share my motherhood story. As always all thoughts and experiences are my own.
Before kids, my career path was on the fast track to the top. People at my old company wore their long hours as a badge of honor on their sports coat. The longer you stayed at the office the more productive you appeared. It was a vicious cycle to get ahead but I’ve always been driven so I put on my seat belt and grinded. Until…

First comes love.
Then comes marriage.
Then comes Brooklyn in the baby carriage.
After 12 weeks of maternity leave, unbeknownst to all my colleagues, I packed up my precious baby girl and sent her off to daycare for 12 hours a day. I collected all the bets from people who said I would never come back and I got back to work. But as all you ladies in the depths of motherhood know, the day that angelic baby was born, something changed deep inside my soul. I began to DREAM BIGGER than climbing the corporate ladder and started dreaming about a new career path.
HOW MOTHERHOOD CHANGED MY CAREER GOALS
After a year and half of internal turmoil, I finally did it. I asked for that promotion I wanted all along and was promoted from Marketing Manager to SAHM. Now, this is when the magic happened.
Motherhood is to watch your heart walk around outside of your body.
Growing up there was really only two career goals ever presented to me by my parents, teachers, or coaches. You either enter the workforce or motherhood. But the moment I locked eyes with my new babe, I knew there had to be another way. And being home gave me the time to DREAM BIG.
Raising two world changers can seem like a daunting task in itself. But something about motherhood prepares you and makes you so much stronger than you ever could imagine. I have these two precious souls home with me and I need to do them a favor and show them that we as mothers can and should DREAM BIGGER than expected and be the change in creating the life we want.
I partnered with my friends over at James Avery to design a piece of jewelry that describes my motherhood story and when I saw the Dream Big charm I knew that it was perfect. It is paired it with the cultured pearl bead charm because that’s the birthstone for June, the month both my girls were born, and the person I was always meant to be was also born. Besides having good manners, the most important thing I can teach my girls is to DREAM BIGGER and it is all because of them, that I chose to DREAM BIGGER when taking on this path less traveled of entrepreneurship with them by my side.
So now through May 29 James Avery and I want to help you celebrate life through the beauty of design.
